Last year we offered a new and improved Chamber Pak that appeared to be very popular and successful. Previously, we had collected paper flyers and promotional pieces to distribute through the mail twice a year (spring and holidays) to the membership. Then we thought, why not do it electronically, like we do the email blast. Now we have a better format through Constant Contact for our emails, we know that it is effective and more professional in appearance.
The Chamber is excited and proud to say that after 17 years in its current location, it will be moving its offices from Washington Street to Nelson Street in a new property development by George Bezold and family. The new location is 18 East Nelson Street in what some of you might remember as the Rockbridge Auto Parts building, Hunter and Huntress or the Mirage. The Bezolds have done a fantastic job of renovating the building to make the first floor attractive for business while upstairs they developed three amazing condos for those interested in downtown living. We know the property will be a focal point in the renovations going on all over downtown Lexington.
We would like to introduce to the membership the newest member of the Chamber team: Elizabeth Braddy. We are very pleased to announce that Elizabeth was hired after a very extensive search of many qualified candidates. This summer the Board reassessed it’s needs and decided this needed to be a full-time position. The job has changed significantly and additional responsibilities have been added since the assessment. Here is a little of Elizabeth’s background:
She was born in Martinsville, Virginia and moved to Raleigh, NC to attend both Peace and Meredith Colleges. After college she stayed in Raleigh and began a career in marketing and public relations. She has appeared on monthly television and radio cooking shows, exhibited at trade shows around the United States and presented numerous live demonstrations to government and civic organizations. Additionally, she has successfully raised funds for charitable organizations.
