Chamber of Commerce Appoints Executive Director

December 10, 2014 – Lexington, Va. – The Board of Directors announced today the selection of Tracy E. Lyons to serve as the Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce Serving Lexington, Buena Vista and Rockbridge County ( Tracy will succeed Sammy Moore, who is retiring after more than twenty years of service in this role. A proven leader and an active, passionate member of the Chamber community, Lyons brings the dynamic combination of vision, leadership, management skills, Chamber experience, local perspective and strong community pride to this critical role.

Lyons’ professional experience includes management and leadership, event planning, membership development, creative design, strategic communications and social media strategy. For the past four years, she has served as the Director of Communications and Programs for Omicron Delta Kappa National Headquarters in Lexington. In this capacity, she directed all public relations and communications for the National Headquarters, served as editor of their national magazine, The Circle (published three times annually), led website development, social media strategy and served as event planner. Previously, Lyons held the title of Membership Recruitment Consultant for Alpha Omicron Pi International Headquarters in Nashville, Tenn., where she assisted 54 of the 108 active chapters with the development of year-round recruitment initiatives and education.

Our New Location

Yes, after 17 years at 100 East Washington Street, the Chamber of Commerce serving Lexington, Buena Vista and Rockbridge County has picked up and moved a block to our new location at 18 East Nelson Street, Lexington.  We invite our members to come and see the new offices.  It is still a work in progress, but we are pleased to be in a “new home”.  We appreciated the efforts of the Bezolds to help us fulfill this dream!  George and his mother, Theresa have accommodated us every way possible to move in to our new space in a timely manner.  They have been helpful throughout the entire process and for that we are very grateful.  So, please stop by at any time and give us your comments.  It is good to be “home”.  We look forward to seeing you!
